New works by Arundel artist Andy Waite whose contemporary landscapes  and seascapes are essentially expressionistic in form and energy. Waite’s paintings are a poetic celebration of the English sky and weather in all their elemental power and their abstracted quality offering a slowly unfolding dialogue. Although his paintings take inspiration from the Sussex countryside, his work embraces the freedom to explore an inner, symbolic landscape that reaches beyond pure geography. The dynamic play of light and darkness in nature is mirrored by the emotions driving the painting process, reflecting and re-imagining both the gentle and tumultuous landscapes of earth and soul.

Andy has been a practising artist for over 30 years and is widely collected in the UK and abroad. 

Waite has published three books of images and accompanying poems, and one of poems and photographs. His work has been widely featured in magazines including Country Living, Vogue, and Country Homes & Interiors.
